Lowe's is like the ultimate playground for home improvement enthusiasts. Founded in 1946, it's become the go-to spot for everything from power tools and paint to appliances and decor. Whether you're a DIY champ or just starting out, Lowe's has got you covered with their wide selection and friendly staff ready to help you tackle any project. With stores all across the country, it's easy to pop in and find exactly what you need to spruce up your space - including lamps.
5,300+ lamps in stock
Lowe's has a slightly smaller inventory than its big-box home improvement store rival (which we've reviewed separately here), but having over 5,300 lamps and lamp shades still isn't what we'd call a meager selection. On the low end of the price scale, you'll find basic desk lamps for $9.98, Simple Designs table lamps for $18.99, and an allen+roth torchiere floor lamp for just $19.98. If you're looking for budget-friendly lighting, Lowe's has you covered.
You won't spend more than $1,600
The highest-end lamps at Lowe's tend to be made by Meyda, Benzara, and ET2, with mostly Tiffany-style lamps and lamp shades. There's nothing over $1,600, though, which isn't really a surprise coming from a home improvement superstore and not a lighting specialty retailer.
Use the filters to your advantage
But, since you've probably got a particular type of lamp in mind and you're not strictly shopping by price, use the filters to get closer to just the styles that work for your space and your needs. Naturally, because Lowe's has so many retail locations, it might be helpful to double-check that your preferred store is the one displayed in the Pickup section as you're browsing lamps: that will let you select "Pickup” as one of your filters, if you'd like to order online and get it yourself. But, "Free Delivery” is another available filter, and that'll include all lamps priced at $45+. Other filters you might like to apply are style, color family, brand, features, and department (if you know you want a floor lamp and not a table lamp).
Customer reviews tell it like it is
As you browse, you can also take advantage of other shoppers' feedback on the lamps you like. One of the most reviewed lamp styles we spotted was the allen+roth 54” Bronze Shelf Floor Lamp, priced at $119.98. At the time of our visit, 285 people had left ratings for this unique table-plus-lighting style, averaging 4.1 out of 5 stars. We love that Lowe's lets you see the good, the bad, and the ugly as their customers see it, including photos of the lamps in use. It gives Lowe's a leg up over lamp stores that only have one or two reviews (or none at all). And if you saw "leg” and "lamp” in the same sentence and immediately thought of the movie "A Christmas Story”, you are our kind of people.
Generous 90-day return window, in-store or shipped back
Returns are easy with Lowe's. You've got 90 days to either bring it to a location near you or print out a label and ship it off, at no charge to you. Just follow the step-by-step instructions on the Lowe's website.
"A+” from the BBB, no concerns about number of complaints
We also have no concerns with Lowe's reputation. Despite having 15,000+ complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau over the last 3 years, Lowe's still earns the BBB's "A+” rating and accreditation. Given the millions of customers who shop at Lowe's every year, across 2,000+ locations, it stands to reason that this store is going to get its fair share of feedback, both positive and negative. That's a good reason to use the shopper ratings when you look specifically at lamps: that won't likely be affected by one store's cranky associate or any glitches with in-store pickup or delivery.
Trustworthy option for buying a lamp (and more)
Lowe's is about as sturdy and reliable as it comes, and that goes for buying lamps too. And, of course, you can take advantage of the store's wide inventory of other home improvement-related supplies at the same time: you might as well start thinking about a new area rug or a fresh coat of paint while you're at it.

Where is the Best Place to Buy Lamps?
If you're into home design, or just want to redecorate a room, you know how important lighting is. The right lamps can make or break a room, providing just the right amount of lighting to accent the space. You may find it interesting that more and more people have chosen to purchase their lamps online.
There are many reasons for this shift in purchasing. One significant reason for the popularity of online lamp stores is the unparalleled convenience they offer. Unlike traditional brick-and-mortar stores, online platforms are accessible 24/7, letting you browse and purchase at your convenience, from the comfort of your home. This is particularly appealing if you have a busy schedule, or prefer to shop at your own pace without the constraints of store hours or location limitations.

Lamp Store FAQ
Trends come and go, but some of today's most popular lamp styles include buffet, arc, tripod and swing arm lamps. Overall, though, the lamp you buy should fit your lighting needs, your decor, and your available space - and then you can worry about whether or not it's on trend.
Lamps let you "customize” your lighting, in a way. Have you ever turned on the built-in lighting and felt like they were too bright - or too dim? Or maybe the light didn't quite reach your cozy reading nook, computer desk, or craft table? Lamps can give you the light quality you want for any purpose, and they are a nice accent piece for your decor.
You won't find a better selection anywhere else. Shopping for your lamp online gives you a true panorama of all current options for indoor lighting. Plus, if you're buying an oversized lamp, shopping with an internet retailer means that you'll get your order delivered right to your home: no need to wrestle it over to your car and hope that it fits!
Read the product description or packaging. You'll usually find information about what kind of bulbs will fit the lamp you're buying. From there, it's up to you to choose how many lumens (for example, 1600 lumens = the light of a 100-watt incandescent bulb), what color "temperature” (warm or cool), how energy efficient you want your bulbs to be, and so forth.
As much or as little as you'd like! You can get plenty of lamps for under $50, all the way up to one-of-a-kind statement pieces for over $5,000!
Many online retailers will deliver your lamp for free. That's just one more great reason to buy your lamps online!
Check the return policy before you place your order. Most retailers accept returns of unused lamps within 30 days of purchase. You may have to pay a restocking fee and/or return shipping costs that will be deducted from your refund, though.
Most lamps last a very long time! (Haven't we all gotten at least one hand-me-down from Grandma's house?) As long as you take good care of it, keeping it dust-free and avoiding any unfortunate accidents, your lamp could easily last a decade or more.

Online lamp stores also provide a vast array of options that cater to diverse tastes and preferences. These stores typically offer an extensive selection of lamp styles, ranging from modern and minimalist designs to vintage and eclectic pieces. With just a few clicks, you can explore a wide variety of options, enabling you to find the perfect lamp to complement your interior decor and personal aesthetic.
In addition to the breadth of selection, online lamp stores often feature detailed product descriptions and customer reviews. This information helps you make a more informed purchasing decision. By providing comprehensive information about materials, dimensions, and lighting specifications, you can assess the quality and suitability of each lamp before making a purchase. Furthermore, customer reviews offer valuable insights into the experiences of other buyers, which lets you gauge the reliability and satisfaction of the product.
In recent years, modern lamp designs have reflected a fusion of functionality, aesthetics, and sustainability. Wondering what some of today's top trends are? Let's take a look.
First up is minimalism. Clean lines, simple shapes, and understated elegance are prevalent in modern lamp designs. Minimalist lamps often feature sleek materials like metal, glass, or wood, with emphasis on functionality and versatility.
Next up? Natural materials. Lamp designs incorporating bamboo, rattan, or cork are becoming increasingly popular. These materials add warmth and texture to interior spaces, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance.
And, who can overlook smart lighting? With the rise of smart home technology, lamps integrated with smart features have become popular. These lamps can be controlled remotely via smartphone apps or voice assistants, allowing you to adjust brightness, color temperature, and even create lighting schedules.
Finally, sustainable lighting solutions continue to gain traction, with LED lamps leading the way. LED technology offers energy-efficient illumination, long lifespan, and customizable color options. Many modern lamps are designed to accommodate LED bulbs, contributing to energy savings and reduced environmental impact.
Whether you're looking for something minimalist, natural, high-tech, or sustainable - or a combination of all of those - you've probably already realized that the best way to find the perfect lamp is to shop online. Most brick-and-mortar lamp stores have gone the way of VCRs and landline phones: you might find one here or there, but why not just go directly to the vast array of options on the internet?
Of all the online stores that sell lamps, which one should you shop first? Keep these criteria in mind to narrow down the options:
- Selection. Naturally, the more lamps a store carries, the easier it'll be for you to spot the one you've been picturing.
- Ease of navigation/filtering. Some of today's most popular lamp stores have tens of thousands of lighting options. The best retailers make it quick and easy to narrow those down, so you're only browsing the best matches. It's also a big help when the lamp store allows for shoppers to leave reviews on individual products.
- Pricing. How much will it cost to get your ideal lamp? Don't forget to factor in shipping costs, if any.
- Return policy. What happens if you get your lamp all set up and it's not a great fit for the space? Or it doesn't look like what you'd been imagining? Make sure you know what the retailer's return policy is, from the length of time before you send it back to any restocking or return shipping fees.
- Reputation. What do customers say about the lamp store? Is it easy to get in touch with customer service when needed? Has the retailer received a favorable grade from the Better Business Bureau?
The information gathered by the experts here at Top Consumer Reviews can help you find that perfect statement piece to brighten your foyer or the most high-tech smart solution to integrate a whole home lighting experience. Happy shopping!
